Star of hearts ⭐️

Continuing in the theme of delighting in sea creatures, I was inspired by an abstract background I had painted in acrylic on some canvas.

It had been on my easel for a couple of months and I didn’t know where I wanted to go with it so I  had left it, glancing at it occasionally as I went about my day until I drew a lazy looking sea star in my sketchbook. Then I felt like I knew what should go on that canvas.

The heart strings were already there, and I wanted the sea star to look bold and colourful. In the end I painted my star friend in oil, and added in more hearts so he looks like he’s wrapped in them.
